speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
...How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Everything- Lifehouse
-thoughts in a nutshell-
:.pink rose.:
You're my reason,
Embedded in my soul,
for everything you've done,
and for what's more to come.
You're my reason,
whispering within my heart,
for my moment of life,
for my time of strife.
You're my reason...
I welcome everything you've given,
for the sunshine, for the rain,
for the peace and for the pain..
thank you.

:stupid thing of the week [last week now]:
I can't get by the week without doing something stupid can I?
This one is particularly noted as something so stupid that even I have to laugh, so what else to do but share my stupidity with all my friends.
So we were sitting there in psychology, looking over at Agatha's ibook (note: not a normal laptop) with Prashant on the other side looking through various photos.
Agatha (aka Ag): Oh, I'll show you the picture of that malaysian guy and you tell me if you think he's hot..
Alex: Okay... (picture appears -it is to be noted that only a guy and a girl appared on the screen and I stupidly reponded)- Which one?
Ag: what do you mean which one??
Prashant: *laughing manically* I'm pretty sure there is only one guy...
Alex: *hits head on table thinking how stupid she is*
Ag + Prashant: *laughs loudly at stupidity of Alex*
So apparently I can't differentiate genders. Well at least I'm not gender discriminative eh? That's a plus... I think o.O..okay maybe not...
No bubbleboy *sigh* I'm sorry Nay, I can't get over at how sorry I am TT_TT I really wanted to go see it with you... sorry sorry sorry, we'll watch something else... >.< Russian Ballet I say, well that's up to you- no inspirational Shakespeare out that I really want to see at the moment... Anything you really dying to see? We should try and get people to come (10 at least) so I can have it cheaper... hehe
ASIDE from my stupid moment in psychology, you learn a great deal of intesting little facts
:leadership and followers:
A leader should be identified be a person designated, focus of group members, most popular person or most influential- however leaders do not always have all factors identified. Fieldler's theory of leadership effectiveness, states that people who are good at leading one type of group may not be good at leading a different type of group.
The different styles of leadership (Bass) are
Idealised influence (behaviour)- leading by example
Idealised influence (attributed)- leading by means of charisma
inspirational motivation- ability to inspire followers (could be through the use of vision, missions etc) to provide meaning and challenges to a follower's work
intellectual stimulation- actions that challenge followers to expand their abilities
individualised consideration-actions which attend to the unique developmental and performance needs of each follower
Contingent reward- leaders uses rewards and recognition for goals as motivating forces
Management-by-exception (active)- leaders focused on monitoring tasks for any mistakes or complaints that were likely to occur, before problems arose
Management-by-exception (passive)- reactive leadership where the leader only intervened after problems arose
Various groups have various leaders. What kind of leaders are surrounding you? (including yourself if you want)
:attraction and love:
factors which affect attraction:
- arousal- reaction
- familiarity- more you know someone, or subliminal exposures (don't have to know them, but see them around)
- propinquity- physical closeness
- similarity- similarity of attitudes etc
- amnient mood- meet them during good circumstances and environment
- disinhibition- conformed to appropriate behaviours of social situations
- physical attraction- initial factor of attraction which overrides anything else
Also physical attractive people are judged to be more: intelligent, adjusted, sociable, honest, interesting, independent, exciting and successful- this is due to people's general acceptance to physically attractive individuals.
People are generally nicer to physically attractive people, thus if you're 'ugly as sin', as my lecturer says, you will tend to develop the opposite of what physically attractive people are such as being less sociable (because of being less accepted) and so on. So having all those characteristics for attractive people are generally attributed due to others judgement upon them.
Attractive men usually are confident, assertive, often in women's company, educated and have a pretigious job.
Yet attractive women [unfortunately for men :P] are less trusting of men.
love TBC- meh I'm lazy (just remind me..o.O)
