It has been a while since I've come back to this old dusty little thing... 1 or 2 years ago? Only the aged elderly would remember.
I decided to write in this (it probably won't be very frequent due to time constraints) because I don't have facebook and I couldn't be bothered to get that 'social' website (for 150 friends you have you only have 1 real friend in real life). Who knows maybe I'll get it...one day (I always say that).
I doubt anyone would read this, but it's to write down my opinions on the world..My analytical thoughts about the Nation (Australia) and the world.
To start with, I want to highlight Australia and racism. The recent rejection of an Islamic school in Camden to be precise.

Now, I know the Islam religion has been painted in such a black light since the twin towers and the 'war' on terror..
Let me point out, there is a difference between Islam and Radical Islamics.
Islam is a teaching that in no sense teaches violence or terrorism.
Now Islamic radicalists are individuals who take those teachings out of context, misuse it and change the teachings of Islam using man made books (Hadith and Sunna- sayings and traditions falsely attributed to the prophet Muhummad).
These are the individuals who want to inflict terror within the world, believe that suicide bombing means they're a martyr for their religion.
In no way am I endorsing Islam, but I want to highlight that there are people out there who do terrible things. They shouldn't be placed under an umbrella of a particular religion.
Australia is no different. I raised my eyebrows at the ignorance this community member had commented,
"We just don't want Muslim people in Camden, we don't want them not only here, we don't want them in Australia."
Now I've grown up in a country, in which I was taught that Australia embraced their multiculturalism and people regardless the skin colour, religion or 'class' was treated as equal.
I've become increasingly aware of the rift between the 'Australians' and the different cultures.
Firstly there was the party One Nation, headed by Pauline Hanson whom had controversial racism ideals.
Then of course the Cronulla riots, which 'white' Australians decided to 'bash wogs and lebs' following 3 Lebanese assaulting lifeguards the weekend prior.
And now, there is this.
Comments like, "get them out of our country" or "go back to where you came from" are increasingly common.
But let us be reminded of our roots, Australians were initially deported to here as criminals,
Australians took the place as their own, taking away the rights of the original owners.
I don't think it is anyone's right to want different races out of the country because they come from a different culture/background or that their religion does not agree with theirs.
If the Australian culture is all about getting rid of the ethnics out of their country, then I have to say I would hate to call myself Australian.
We are a multicultural country, and we should be proud of it.
